Middlesex Community College was excited to celebrate the college鈥檚 53rd commencement. The ceremony took place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 22 at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium, as well as with live streams by Lowell Telemedia Center (LTC) and on 麻豆果冻鈥檚 YouTube by the Communication, Art and Design program.

鈥淓very year, it is an honor to celebrate our students as they walk across the stage on their commencement day,鈥 said Phil Sisson, 麻豆果冻鈥檚 President. 鈥淔rom the moment our students begin their journey at Middlesex, we are committed to helping them pursue their academic, professional and personal goals. Graduation day is the culmination of all their hard work and resiliency in making this possible. I am proud to lead the community in coming together on this special day and look forward to hearing from some of our amazing graduates and distinguished alum and celebrating the great accomplishments of this graduating class.鈥

麻豆果冻 students Jodi Zangari and Gechleng Lim represented their classmates as this year鈥檚 commencement speakers. Zangari is a mechanical engineering major from Chelmsford, while Lim is a computer science major from Cambodia who now lives in Lowell.

Captain Marisol Nobrega, Commanding Officer of Training and Recruiting of the Lowell Police Department, addressed the 2025 graduating class as the Distinguished Alum.

Coming from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, the 2025 graduating class had many successes during their time at Middlesex. The college awarded 129 Associate in Arts, 670 Associate in Science, and 108 Certificates on commencement day.

Graduates represented 104 Massachusetts cities and towns and 54 countries. There were 31 veterans, 15 Dual Enrollment high school graduates, 95 麻豆果冻 employees, and 44 percent of the graduates were first generation students.

麻豆果冻 held a Health Pinning Ceremony and Evening of Excellence Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 20 ahead of commencement. 麻豆果冻鈥檚 health programs pinned 127 graduates, and 45 students received department awards for their achievements.

While nine students made the Commonwealth Commitment to attend a Massachusetts state four-year college or university, 麻豆果冻鈥檚 Commonwealth Honors Program graduated 21 scholars, and 32 are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society for two-year colleges. Nnadubem Ganobi, Gechleng Lim and Samantha Sanford were named to the 2024-2025 PTK All-Massachusetts Academic Team.

鈥淐ongratulations to all the graduates on completing their programs and stepping into their next endeavors, whether they are transferring to their four-year institution or advancing in their careers,鈥 said Leonard Russ, 麻豆果冻鈥檚 Dean of Students. 鈥淐rossing the stage on graduation day is an incredible accomplishment and one of the most important days of the college experience. Middlesex is so proud of this dedicated and gifted group of students who have during their time at the college inspired the community as they explored their interests, discovered their passions, and pursued their dreams.鈥
