The Lowell Asian American Film Festival (LAAFF) features Asian American-directed films from across the country for a weekend celebrating art, culture and diversity.
LAAFF is sponsored by Âé¶¹¹û¶³ with support from the Middlesex Community College Foundation and the Lowell Cultural Council Grant.

College students (with valid ID): $10/event, $15 for full festival
Youths 0-13: FREE

11 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Film Workshop for Students
12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – Screening and selection of Best Student Short film
6 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Opening Reception and Performances
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – Screening of Opening Film
8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Q&A with director and producer
Friday, October 16
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.– Animated Shorts
3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Narrative Short Films
4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Documentary Short Films
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – Screening of Closing Film
8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Q&A with director and producer
We are accepting submissions on through Tuesday, June 30!

- Narrative Short Film
- Documentary Short Film
- Animated Short Film
- Student Short Film
- Feature Film
- Feature Documentary
This year, we will offer awards in four categories. Winners receive a monetary award and a festival laurel.
- Best Short Narrative Film – $250
- Best Short Documentary Film – $250
- Best Short Animated Film – $100
- Best Student Short Film – $100
